2025 Licensing and Credential Guidelines

Driver Licensing Procedures

All drivers intending to compete in any USF Juniors, USF2000 or USF Pro 2000 official on-track activity must obtain a license for that series through USAC. (Official on-track activity is defined as any series-operated test or race event.)

License applications must be completed online at www.usflicense.com. The cost per annual driver license is $700 for each series and includes both the driver’s annual credential and one additional annual credential for a parent or other non-crew family member. Additional parent/family annual credentials are available for $250 each. Licenses applied for within 5 days of the event at which the license is intended to be used will be assessed a $100 additional fee.

Drivers who have not previously held a license for a USF Pro Championships series must submit a driving resume during the application process. Please see Driver Licensing Qualifications section below. Drivers who have previously held a USF Pro Championships license are not required to submit a driving resume at the time of application, but one may be requested by the series Competition Director during the application review process.

All driver license applications will be reviewed by the series Competition Director and/or series Race Director(s). Once approved by all parties, the driver will be issued his/her license.

Minor driver and crew applications may be completed online, but additional paper minor waivers must also be completed by parents at the track at the first event.

In certain circumstances, a driver may not be eligible for a full license but may be approved for a provisional license, pending on-track observation by the Race Director and Stewards.

Physical Examination paperwork must be uploaded at the time of license application, or sent separately to sue@andersenpromotions.net. Medical clearance must be given prior to final license approval and processing. Please note that physical exams expire 12 months from the date of issue.

An FIA license is not required nor included in a driver’s 2025 USAC license. However, USAC is able to process an FIA license for drivers that wishes to upgrade their application to include this, pending driver eligibility. The cost to upgrade is $400.

Test-only licenses are available for $200. Test licenses are good for one test only, and drivers must purchase a new test-only license for each official series test if they do not already have an annual driver license. Licenses applied for within 5 days of the event at which the license is intended to be used will be assessed at $100 additional fee.

Driver Licensing Qualifications*

Provided below are more specific guidelines to assist drivers in building their resumes with the experience – both in terms of testing and wheel-to-wheel competition – that will be necessary to qualify for a race license at each level of the USF ladder.

This information is intended to provide a road map for drivers to hit an automatic qualification threshold. A driver who does not meet these stated requirements, but still wishes to apply for a license, must submit, along with their resume, a request that provides valid reasons why a license should be granted. License approval will be up to the series’ Competition Director after review of the resume and application.

USF Juniors License

A driver automatically qualifies for a USF Juniors license if they have achieved one or more of the following threshold requirements;

1. Six (6) successfully completed races in a recognized amateur open wheel series (i.e. SCCA Club Racing, Skip Barber Racing School Formula Car Series, Lucas Oil Formula Car Series, Ligier JSF4 Championship etc.).

2. Four (4) successfully completed races in a recognized amateur open wheel series (i.e. SCCA Club Racing, Skip Barber Racing School Formula Car Series, Lucas Oil Formula Car Series, etc.) PLUS, either ten (10) successfully completed races in a recognized karting championship (USPKS, Superkarts! USA, ROK Cup etc.) or six (6) successfully completed races in a private racing series program such as the Formula FARA race program or the Yacademy Winter Series program.

3. Have a karting resume that has the driver as a top-10 nationally ranked karter (subject to confirmation), plus two (2) successfully completed races in a recognized amateur open wheel series (i.e. SCCA Club Racing, Skip Barber Racing School Formula Car Series, Lucas Oil Formula Car Series, etc.), plus two (2) test days in a current USF Juniors racecar.

Applications that satisfy any of the above three options can be submitted, with a full driving resume included, for issuance of a driver license.

Alternative driving experience (with official results sheets) will be considered and the series reserves the right to accept experience which, in the opinion of the Competition Director, satisfies the intent of the requirements.

USF Juniors drivers must be a minimum of 14 years of age prior to the driver’s first on-track session at their first official series test or race event.

USF2000 License

A driver automatically qualifies for a license if they have fulfilled one of the following options:

1. Eight (8) successfully completed USF Juniors races with at least six (6) races inside the top-10.

2. Twelve (12) successfully completed USF Juniors races (no top-10s required).

3. Twelve (12) successfully completed races in an open wheel series comparable to USF Juniors (i.e. F4 US Championship, F1600 Championship Series, recognized comparable level International open wheel series, etc.).

USF2000 drivers must be a minimum of 15 years of age prior to the driver’s first on-track session at their first official series test or race event.

USF Pro 2000 License

A driver automatically qualifies for a license if you have one of the following options:

1. Eight (8) successfully completed races with at least six (6) top-10 finishes in USF2000 races.

2. Twelve (12) successfully completed races (with competitive results) in an open wheel series comparable to USF2000 (i.e. FR America, F2000 Championship Series, comparable International-level open wheel series such as GB3, FREC, etc.).

Applications that satisfy any of the above two options can be submitted, with a full driving resume included, for issuance of a driver license. Alternative driving experience (with official results sheets) will be considered and the series reserves the right to accept experience which, in the opinion of the Competition Director, satisfies the intent of the requirements.

USF Pro 2000 drivers must be a minimum of 16 years of age prior to the driver’s first on-track session at their first race event of the season.

*Driver licensing eligibility as described above is advisory only. Driver licensing is subject to the 2025 Rulebook which supersedes this document.

Entrant Licenses and Annual Credentials

Entrant licenses and Team Annual Credential applications must be completed online at www.usflicense.com. Please note changes in pricing and structure for 2025.

Each team must hold an Entrant license for the series in which it is participating. The cost is $1,400 for the first Entrant license, which includes six (6) annual credentials. Additional individual annual credentials are available for $250 each or can be purchased in bulk at discounted rate of $600 for a 4-pack or $1,000 for an 8-pack. If a team is participating in multiple USF Pro Championships, their second Entrant license cost is $1,150 and includes five (5) annual credentials, and their third Entrant license cost is $950 and includes four (4) annual credentials.

Single Event Credentials

Each driver/entrant combination receives four (4) guest credentials per event. If additional credentials are needed, requests can be made to the series office and in many cases granted, dependent upon availability at that particular event. Andersen Promotions does not guarantee that quantities requested (beyond the 4 allotted) will be filled at all events.

For 2025, Andersen Promotions will use an online system for single event credentials. The website and login information will be distributed to teams, who can then manage their guest list online at any time. Guests must arrive at the credential office at each track during the scheduled registration hours, where they must sign a liability waiver and present photo identification to obtain credentials.

Replacement Credentials

If an annual credential is lost or stolen and needs to be replaced, there will be a $25 charge to reprint each card.

Other Notes

  • Media/Photo Credentials: Requests for media or photography credentials must go through each track promoter directly.

  • Parking Passes: Parking passes will be granted per team/entered car at each event, based on quantities allotted to the series by the event promoter. These quantities may vary from event to event.

  • Specialized Parking: If any individual has a specialized parking request (i.e. motor home, handicap, etc.) the individual must contact the event promoter in advance of the event.

  • Credential Hours: Prior to an event, competitors are advised to review posted credential office hours on the series website and pass that information along to any guests expected during the event.

  • Substance Abuse Screening: Any/all credentialed persons may be subject to random drug screening at the track at any event(s) throughout the season.
