GRAVOIS MILLS, Mo. - USF Juniors Presented by Cooper Tires held its opening two races at the challenging Ozarks International Raceway last weekend, with Canadian rising star Mac Clark, from Milton, Ont., scoring a pair of dominant wins for DEForce Racing.

The venue, designed and built by IMSA driver JR Pesek, was nothing short of a challenge for the 18 hungry young drivers, who competed during the weekend. “I wanted to build a pro track to constantly challenge drivers,” said Pesek. And challenging it was. USF Juniors drivers had practically no prior testing in 3.97-mile, 19-turn road course, which allowed the competition to be an even-playing field.

Clark was able to quickly adapt to the track, securing two poles and two wins and grabbing the track record for full weekend sweep for DEForce Racing, who had prepared their program perfectly to outperform at the new pro circuit. Clark leaves the Ozarks with maximum of 66 points, leading the championship into to Barber Motorsports Park later this week.

"You know, I thought Mosport (CTMP) at home in Canada would always be my favorite track, but The Ozarks is now my new favorite,” said Clark. “It is by far the most challenging track I have ever seen. Every lap there is something new. The elevation and direction changes never stop, I love this place. After the racing was finished, I was fortunate enough to spend some time with JR (Pesek). I hope to go back soon to the Ozarks.”

“I want to thank DEForce Racing and Valkyrie for putting this program together, and believing in me,” said Clark. “Also thank you to YMCAGTA, Bell Racing, MIR Raceline USA and Sekanskin for their support.”

With his eyes set on becoming a NTT INDYCAR SERIES Champion, Clark has been partnering with Speed Group management, since 2021. Co-founder of Speed Group and Canadian former NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver James Hinchcliffe has been mentoring Clark throughout last year and now for the 2022 USF Juniors Presented by Cooper Tires Championship.

Clark will be back in action this week when the USF Juniors Presented by Cooper Tires arrives to Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Ala. The event will include a pair of races, on Thursday and Friday, in advance of a busy weekend which will include the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and the entire Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires.
