UK competitor makes the move to North America
With a growing driver lineup in the complete USF Pro Championships Presented by Continental Tire, Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) has once again strengthened its powerhouse program with the addition of Liam McNeilly. Making the move from the GB4 Championship to USF Juniors Presented by Continental Tire, McNeilly brings race-winning experience to a championship-caliber program.
“We are thankful that Liam has chosen to race with us in 2024,” explained Jay Howard, Owner of JHDD. “Liam comes with a ton of experience and while USF Juniors will be a new experience for him, I am confident that he will be in contention from the very first green flag of the season.”
Making the move from the UK to North American racing, McNeilly brings a resume of success. Competing in the GB4 Championship in 2023 with Fox Motorsport, McNeilly earned two wins, 10 podium results and four fast-lap honors on his way to a third-place finish in the series championship chase. The three years prior, McNeilly battled in the Michelin Ginetta Junior Championship earning seven wins, 19 podium results and seven pole positions finishing in the top-three in the championship in both 2021 and 2022.
“I’m extremely excited to be joining Jay Howard Driver Development for the 2024 season,” explained Liam McNeilly. “After a couple of successful tests with Jay and the team, racing in the US seemed like a logical step after my successful rookie single-seater year in the UK. It will be a challenge learning new circuits and competing against some tough opposition, but a challenge I’m excited about and very much looking forward to.”
Howard added, “Liam will be a great addition to our program, and despite the lack of testing this offseason, we believe in his skills and abilities to help bring JHDD more race wins, podium results and championships in 2024.”
