DAWSONVILLE, GA – VRD Racing is thrilled to announce that João Vergara will join the team for the 2025 USF Juniors Presented by Continental Tire season. After a rookie campaign in 2024, where he secured an eighth-place finish in the championship standings, Vergara is set to bring his talent to VRD Racing for his second year in the series.
The Brazilian has rapidly established himself as a driver to watch. His journey to USF Juniors includes finishing fifth in the 2024 YACademy Winter Series, highlighted by a podium finish, and a strong performance in the 2023 Lucas Oil Formula Car Series, where he won five races and finished as vice-champion.
Before his formula racing career, Vergara won the 2020 Copa São Paulo Junior Max Rookie Championship and has collected numerous podiums since his karting debut in Brazil in 2018.
“I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be joining VRD Racing for the 2025 season,” said Vergara. “After a lot of hard work in the off-season, I can't wait to dive into my second year in USF Juniors. Huge thanks to Dan Mitchell, Jacob Loomis, the entire VRD team and to all my partners for making this opportunity happen.”
“Joao has been very impressive in the two tests he’s done with us,” VRD Racing’s Dan Mitchell said. “He’s clearly a great talent, one we just had to get signed up for the 2025 season.”
