Carel joins expanded JHDD program for 2024
With a large USF Pro Championships Presented by Cooper Tires driver lineup coming together for the 2024 season, another piece of the puzzle has been put in place. Joining the Jay Howard Driver Development (JHDD) efforts and piloting a JHDD machine in the USF Juniors Presented by Cooper Tires program will be Timmy Carel as he makes his move from karts to cars and begins to ascend the open-wheel racing motorsports ladder.
“I am beyond happy to have the chance to race USF Juniors next season with Jay and his program,” explained Carel. “This is an incredible opportunity I have been given, and I will aim to make the most out of the 2024 season.”
As a recent Los Angeles Kart Club (LAKC) X30 Junior Champion and the Junior ROK champion at the California ROK Championship, Carel is making the step up to cars under the watchful eye of former NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver Jay Howard.
“We are excited to have Timmy join our program and think that he can do big things not only in his rookie season but for years to come,” explained Jay Howard. “His results in karting speak for themselves, and when he has been behind the wheel of a racecar, he has been quite impressive. Locking into our program now will provide him with a great test program throughout the winter months as we prepare for the 2024 season.”
Carel will look to make his presence felt at the upcoming USF Pro Championships Fall Combine on October 21 and 22 at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway as he joins the JHDD program and the rest of the USF Pro Championships drivers at one of the world's most iconic racetracks.
Stay tuned for more driver announcements from Jay Howard Driver Development in the very near future.
