PALMETTO, Fla. – A strong contingent of USF Juniors Presented by Cooper Tires competitors will head to Florida next week to contest a total of six races that will comprise the YACademy Winter Series. The two triple-header rounds will take place at Sebring International Raceway on February 8/9 and Homestead-Miami Speedway on February 11/12.
YACademy is the Official Testing and Winter Series for USF Pro Championships Presented by Cooper Tires, providing off-season testing at Road America, Barber Motorsports Park, Homestead and Sebring throughout September, November, December and January. It also presents the season-ending “YACademy Move of the Year” award to drivers in USF Juniors as well as USF2000 and USF Pro 2000 Presented by Cooper Tires.
The company was founded by Gustavo Yacaman, an accomplished racing driver with over 20 years of experience of racing and coaching. Yacaman has participated in all levels of professional racing, including the world’s major endurances races.
The top-three finishers in the inaugural season of USF Juniors competition – Mac Clark, Sam Corry and Nikita Johnson – all participated in the 2022 YACademy Winter Series.
“The YACademy Winter Series is a great place for the young drivers coming out of karting or a school series to run through the paces of a race weekend with the team they will be racing with in the full USF Juniors championship,” said Yacaman. “In addition to extensive seat time, they have the opportunity to practice qualifying, rolling starts and safety car procedures.
“This will be our fourth year of the Winter Series, and it is exciting for us to see the pre-season preparations pay off for drivers as they embark on their new campaigns.”
The 2023 USF Juniors regular racing calendar will begin on March 23-25 with a triple-header round at Sebring, which will feature all three levels of USF Pro Championships.
